First-year students of the international Master’s programme ‘Prototyping future cities’ are going to Copenhagen for a research trip ‘Self-Sufficient Habitat’. From April 23 to 27, they will be exploring this eco-friendly capital and learning the best practices in sustainable city development.
Andrés Gómez Mares is the first-year Mexican student of the HSE international Master’s programme ‘Prototyping future cities’. He has a Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering of the National Polytechnic Institute of Mexico and came to Moscow to get knowledge in smart city development and train his skills in digital fabrication. The International Laboratory for Experimental Urban Design Shukhov Lab is launching a poster contest for the Master's programme 'Prototyping Future Cities'. If you have a desire to test your creativity, then submit your proposal. The winner will collaborate with Shukhov Lab for the further development of the Master's programme identity under a services contract.

15 more master students will study in Shukhov Lab in 2018-2020
Perhaps, in the not-so-distant future, people will be living in skyscrapers made of wood and concrete with a farm on the first floor and solar panels on the roof. Such a model of a future residential block was presented by the students of the master's programme ‘Prototyping Future Cities’. To create the model, they studied houses in Moscow that have been built over the past hundred years and analyzed international experience. Their model was presented at the Moscow Urban Forum in July and, on September 13 (HSE Day), it will be possible to see it again at Gorky Park.
