A team from HSE University's Faculty of Urban and Regional Development took part in the Global Mayor’s Forum—a global event in urban development. Held in December 2023 in Guangzhou (PRC), the largest congress of urban planners brought together more than 800 guests from 65 cities and 37 countries, as well as nine international organisations.

On 1 and 2 February students from Moscow, Saint-Petersburg and Voronezh took part in Shukhov Lab Winter School ‘Face recognition in the city’. Within two days participants with Architecture, Urban Informatics, Sociology and Social Informatics, Soil Science, Political Science and Economics backgrounds created face recognition spoofing tool.

On October 21, the chief architect of Moscow Sergey Kuznetsov and the head of Shukhov Lab Vicente Guallart, delivered the introductory lecture of the ‘Moscow 2050’ workshop in the laboratory. Within two weeks the selected participants of the workshop together with students of the Master's programme ‘Prototyping future cities’, will develop a vision of Moscow 2050 for the pavilion at the Biennale of Architecture and Urbanism 2019 in Shenzhen.
Within two weeks 20 students will fabricate a full-scale prototype of an interactive object and present it at the popular science festival Geek Picnic 2019 in Moscow
What is the future of public spaces in cities? Which role will play public spaces in urban fabric and urban life in the future? How to create at a public space that will add value to urban life? On March 18 in Shukhov Lab Natalia Fishman, advisor to the president of the Republic of Tatarstan, and Vicente Guallart, academic supervisor of the master program ‘Prototyping future cities’, discussed the future of urban public spaces in cities and shared an experience of creating livable and valuable public spaces in cities in Russia and worldwide.
